Anguli Obscuri Orbi

The City draws them to her, like scavengers to a carcass - the wicked, the ambitious, the strange. From the chilly frontiers of Britain to the hot sands of Egypt; from the dark forests of Germany to the decadent cities of the Greek East. They come: Celts and Germans; Arabs and Jews; Egyptians and Phoenicians; Syrians and Armenians; Greeks and half-Greeks and Greeklings of every description, bringing their strange tongues and strange customs and strange gods. To Rome they come, for wealth or power or blood, from every dark corner of the Empire.

And yet, already within the corpse lurk things more foul and sinister than what the newcomers bring with them. From the sewers that carry Rome's shit into the Tiber, to the imperial palace that towers above it, they writhe and crawl and scuttle from the light, waiting to strike and feast when the back is turned or the fire goes out. They too wait and hunger, in every dark corner of the Empire.

Dark Corners of the Empire

Dark Corners of the Empire is a pulp "sword-and-sandals" roleplaying game, set in the Classical Greek and Roman world during the reign of the Emperor Domitian (r. 81-96AD). The game uses a modified version of the Fate 3.0/Spirit of the Century system.
